Filmed inside the Bronson caves where the original Batman was supposedly filmed. But we had quite a different setup from what they used back then since a bunch of our shots inside the cave will have visual effects.

Filled in for a few days on a creature feature. This was the first day of filming up in Agua Dulce where they had a Humvee for the soldiers. Riding on the back of a Humvee taking notes is fun for the first few times around till you find there is nothing soft to rest on. Was a fun day though with good people.

We rode again in CicLAvia on October 9th. Didn't get to explore the extensions this time but it did look like a lot more people were out and about on bikes, skateboards, roller skates and walking. Stopped and ate from the french fry truck at Hollenbeck park hub. Nice way to spend a Sunday!

Enjoyed an afternoon watching the Highland Games and doing a little eating, shopping and listening to Scottish music. Wall-E found a good vantage point from my umbrella to watch the caber toss. One of the guys was able to toss the caber all three times end to end at the 12 o'clock point. Impressive and just fun to watch. Also saw the men and women compete in sheath tossing, throwing the weight, hammer throw and putting the stone.

Helped out in the control room with a live webcast interview at The Academy for Television Arts and Sciences building. The interview was with the creator and writer of Mad Men. I've only seen the first few episodes of the series so it was interesting to hear his story since it was mostly about his getting the show together in the beginning.

A lovely rainy September morning in Los Angeles. Wall-E watches the rain fall from the bedroom window. It was a good thing we went canoeing a few days earlier since it actually snowed up in Big Bear!

Before the summer weather went away we decided to head out to Big Bear Lake for an afternoon of canoeing. The weather turned out to be just perfect while we were up there although the space where we went canoeing was quite limited. The first canoe rental place we went to didn't have enough oars so we ended up on the north side of the lake. A lovely afternoon. :-)

We went to Charlie Puffer's pop-up restaurant in Glendale at the Fatty's location. Thanks go to the Quarrygirl.com blog for the inspiration. It was delicious! On my plate is the crispy eggplant and on D's plate is the butternut squash and chanterelle quinoa. Everything was so tasty we even ordered dessert! Yummm. The vegetarian restaurant Fatty's is open again and I'm looking forward to going there and trying their new French inspired menu.

Our first time walking in Elysian Park we stopped at this spot that overlooks Mount Washington. The trails were really neat actually and go next to Dodger Stadium pretty much. Only went on one of the trails but look forward to exploring more the next time I get out there.

My camera did not feel like focusing on Wall-E this day! We helped out on a little short that was filmed fully on a Kodak PlayTouch camera. The short film was part of a festival with 10 others to see what each production could come up with using the same camera and a chosen prop, binoculars.

Went kayaking in La Jolla then to Pokez for lunch in downtown San Diego afterward. They have good vegetarian substitutions for some really yummy things. I ordered the tofu enchiladas. Delicious. Wall-E did join us on the kayak but since I wasn't dare taking my phone with me his documentation is on the GoPro footage we captured.

Went on with the plans of seeing the orchestra play the Looney Tunes cartoons with songs after a very sad day. Lanny passed away today so it was kind of nice to have some great music to listen to after a very emotional day. The family in front of us weren't too happy since our olives spilled and might have smelled a little bad for them! Was kind of funny for us but not them. Oops!

Went back again to the Safari Park( previously the Wild Animal Park) a few days later since I have passes but this time my guy and brother joined in since my mom went back home. Chose to ride the tram this time later in the day and as a result more animals were roaming around! Here you can see a giraffe eating.

When it's around 100 degrees with heavy humidity the only thing to do is find some cool water to hang out in! We went to Tenkiller Lake for the day for some boating and tubing time as well as hanging out and having a few cold drinks! I wouldn't suggest visiting the mid-west during a heat wave!!

This duck was my noisy friend outside the place I was staying with my best friend while in Oklahoma. He enjoyed trying to nibble on anything around including my boots and laces. The heat was quite stifling so he had a pool to hang out and swim in when he wanted.

Worked in the science lab for this scene. Wall-E thought the beakers were fun to play in. The actors had to play in the scene too...they used the chemical wash station as a shower pretty much! It was rigged to use much more water than normal. It looked good so I hope it turns out just as funny!

Finally moved into our classroom days for the feature at Gridley High School. Another actress from Romy and Michele's High School Reunion plays the teacher. Just got the Picture Show app so I can add little effects to my photos. :-)

We filmed graduation scenes at the Gridley Fairgrounds. Wall-E is on the stage but you can barely see the many graduates below since they're seated. Today was a hot one like every other day!! The canopy above helped curb the sun rays luckily.

Everybody kept sitting in the director's chair so one day someone finally put his name on it to help. Only kept it empty for one day. This was the day it rained and poured all day! I enjoyed the respite in weather. The people working outside the whole time sure didn't love it though!

This day was the first for an actress that I grew up seeing in movies. She presents a new old car to her son in the film. Cool woman. Our film had two actresses that also appeared in Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.

Peculiar placement for the equipment outside the barn...god bless oops. This barn was located in Gridley just outside of downtown where the tree farms encompass most of the land you can see. The bugs were out and biting too! :-/

We filmed at Paradise High School in the parking lot and on their tennis courts. It was a tad cooler than Chico on this day but still pretty hot with being in the high 90s and humid! Working in Bakersfield last summer helped me be prepared for this shoot luckily!

I found canned jackfruit at my local ethnic grocery store! My first attempt to cook with it was a taco recipe I found online to great success! It was so delicious and filling that Wall-E tried to finish up my other taco.

On a tip from some friends we found this really cool hike up in Griffith Park off Los Feliz Boulevard. The views are amazing around the city and it happened that we finished our hike just before sunset so the weather was just perfect. The hike took us into this small woody area that looks nothing like Los Angeles and a few different benches that had beautiful overlooks to sit at. I'll definitely be returning here again since it's not too far from my place and much less crowded than by the observatory! :-D

Found a parking ticket on my car last week for not having my registration up to date! I hadn't noticed that I never received my tags. Had to make an appointment and found the DMV in West Hollywood to be so quick actually! No lines, just a little waiting after you get your number but you must have an appointment I guess. Not too shabby for us!

I haven't been on a real soundstage in years...since I started script supervising really. Filled in for another script sup for 5 days of a 15 day feature. Was quite fun actually. I miss the stability of being on a soundstage sometimes. We had two real monitors for each of the cameras working, plus one for the digital image technician...which you can see behind us.

Made strawberry cupcakes for a birthday dinner we were hosting at my place. Didn't have a cupcake tin so I just lined them up in a baking dish to see what neat shapes we would find. Topped it with a little homemade strawberry buttercream frosting and they were quite delicious!

Yummmm! We picked up Todd's BBQ sandwich which features jackfruit that looks like pulled-pork, but glad it isn't! So delicious. The restaurant was on the list for the iPhone app Gigwalk so we did our job there and bought some delicious food to bring back home.

Demo Team was over for dinner before their performance at the Silverlake Lounge the other night. We had risotto and vegetables then they continued with a second course of baked chicken and potatoes. Good friends and good conversations are always nice to have around.

To use up our strawberries we decided to make a strawberry shortcake and this huge cake was the end result! We made the cake part with orange zest and orange juice to go along with the strawberries to a delicious result. Yummm.

Although I'm just vegetarian I've been reading this vegan blog, quarrygirl, and getting to know more fun places to eat. The restaurant Pure Luck is closing down soon so I had to check it out before they went away. We tried the jackfruit burrito, which was quite tasty for myself. The jackfruit resembles pulled pork actually but the taste is luckily much much different! Then we had rosemary french fries, and two tacos - one with jackfruit and the other a veggie fish, which you see in the pic. All in all a good meal. :-)

We filmed a scene here at the lagoon in the early morning to get daybreak light for the scene. I really enjoyed watching the baby ducks and mothers walking around and swimming in the water. Adorable in the springtime!

We worked at the beautiful Point Dume nature reserve. Working mostly outdoors for the past week has started to give me a decent tan. From the top point here yesterday we saw a shark attacking a seal! That was a bit surprising!

We participated in CicLAvia for the whole route 7.5 mile route back and forth! It was so much fun with lots of people filling the streets with their bicycles, skateboards, skates and plain ol walking! Can't wait till the next one in July! Here we are at the east end of the route in Boyle Heights.

Woke up our last morning in Mammoth to it lightly snowing! Can't really see the snow falling in this picture but this is the view from the other side of our cabin. The porters and housekeeping use snowmobiles to go from cabin to cabin! Where we parked the car they also shovel out steps to make it easier to get up the first little hill. :-)

Sat down and had lunch during our cross country ski adventure overlooking the frozen Lake Mary. People had ventured out a bit over the lake and built snowmen but you can't see them in this picture. The birds were very friendly and kept landing around us for our food bits! Would love to come back and camp in the area for summertime! We skied all around Lake Mary before trying to manage the hills on our way back to the ski center! A few tumbles since I wasn't good at stopping on the skies but lots of laughs too!

Went cross country skiing at Tamarack Lodge. Had a blast trying to figure out how to work the darn things and got the hang of it after a few hours! The skies were much different than downhill skies by being lighter, longer and the boots much like real shoes!

This guy was probably wondering what the heck we were doing! Haha. We're at the top of the slopes of the main lodge area in Mammoth hitting the Sesame Street run! Went skiing for the first time and found I enjoyed it so much more than the snowboarding I did years ago since I stayed up most of the time and finished the day with less bruises! Next time we won't end up on a medium skill slope accidentally! :-\ eeeep!

Wall-E checks out the food processor I received as a christmas gift from my brother and his wife. We used it the next day to prepare the veggies for my stuffed acorn squash with soy chorizo. This year at my grandma's house I wanted the two vegetarians to have a main dish to enjoy. There was plenty to go around so everyone was able to taste. I think i'll make it for Thanksgiving next year too!

Wall-E just loves helping out. Here he helps direct traffic away from all the carts in the street while we film in the sun. The wind was pretty strong this day but he managed to stay on top of this cone!
